Recap: The Aux Affair × SoundCloud — A Night That Reframed How GCPR Builds Live Partnership Moments

Live partnership events are easy to throw and hard to do well. The Aux Affair × SoundCloud — co-curated by Quan Williams (HipHopJunkie) and supported on the platform side by SoundCloud's Carla — was a quiet master class in the second. GCPR Communications served as the publicity partner on the night, and the recap below is a candid look at what worked, what we'd do again, and how the moment translated into earned media for the artists involved.

The Room

The Aux Affair has always been more curation than concert. The Quan-led format prioritizes performing artists who are actively building, paired with an audience of editors, A&Rs, and tastemakers who can move on what they see in the room. The SoundCloud alignment sharpened that further — the platform's artist relations team, anchored by Carla, brought a layer of editorial intentionality that's rare in the indie-showcase circuit.

The Bill

Steph G delivered one of the night's strongest sets — a confident, lyrically dense performance that turned into one of the most-shared clips of the run. CHOSZN brought a different energy entirely, anchoring the bill with a cinematic, mood-driven set that closed out the room. Both artists are GCPR clients; both moments produced campaign assets that outlived the night by weeks.

The Strategy

GCPR's role on the night was twofold. Pre-event: secure inclusion in platform-aligned editorial channels, brief the on-the-ground content team on which moments to prioritize, and coordinate talent flow so the right introductions happened in the right order. Post-event: package and distribute earned content (photo, video, quotes) across each artist's individual press cycle so a single night fed multiple downstream campaigns.

What Made It Work

Curation over capacity. The room was deliberately sized to make the bill feel exclusive rather than diluted. Platform alignment. The SoundCloud co-sign — credible, hands-on, and led by Carla on the platform side — gave the night editorial weight that paid placements can't replicate. Multi-artist leverage. By staffing the night with multiple GCPR clients, the firm was able to produce shared content equity that benefited every artist on the bill at a lower per-artist cost than a solo event would have run.

Downstream Impact

Assets from the night fed press cycles for Steph G and CHOSZN for weeks after the event, drove follower lift across both artists' social channels, and produced editorial coverage that anchored the GCPR portfolio for the spring. The model is one GCPR plans to repeat — selectively — through the back half of 2026.
